HC Deb 03 July 1911 vol 27 cc946-7W
Mr. MORRELL

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether his attention had been called to the resolution passed by all the Lancashire county boroughs, calling attention to the national value of the work done by the Lancaster and Western Sea Fisheries Joint Committee, and to the fact that in the absence of further funds that committee will not be able to carry on a very useful portion of its work, and appealing as constituent authorities of the joint committee to the Development Commissioners to make a grant of £2,500 per annum to the joint committee under Section 1 of the Development and Road Improvement Fund Act, 1909; and will he say what action the Board are taking in this matter?

Sir E. STRACHEY

The Board have forwarded an application for an advance for fishery purposes to the Treasury, for submission to the Development Commissioners. In framing it the Board have kept in view the application to which my hon. Friend refers.
