HC Deb 03 July 1911 vol 27 cc947-8W
Lord CLAUD HAMILTON

asked whether it is proposed to employ in the Victoria and Albert Museum a certain number of liveried attendants in place of members of the Metropolitan Police, as at present; and, if so, what is the object of the change?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The changes which have been made in the arrangements for the custody of the Victoria and Albert Museum were devised for reasons of economy. They consist in substituting a mixed force of police and uniformed warders for the homogeneous force of police hitherto employed.
