§ Lord CHARLES BERESFORDasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that there is a shortage in our 1414W coal reserves; and whether, in the event of strained relations of war being declared, it would be necessary to import steam coal from America for the use of the Navy?
§ Mr. McKENNAIt is not considered to be in the interests of the public service to discuss the question of the Navy fuel reserves, but the Admiralty is satisfied that an adequate reserve is maintained. The reply to the second part of the question is in the negative.
