§ Mr. JOWETTasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer who was the last person to hold the office described in the List of Rules, Orders, etc., issued on 4th December, as Clerk of the Pipe; what was the amount of the perpetual pension he enjoyed in lieu of fees; how much was paid to him when his pension was commuted in 1906; whether he holds any office under the Government at present; and, if so, what salary is being paid to him?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe amount of the perpetual pension granted in 1835 as compensation for the abolition of the office was £62 9s. 8d.; the sum for which this was commuted in 1906 was £1,683 12s. 3d. The last person to hold the office in question was a Mr. R. Harrison, who purchased it in 1798. He does not hold any office under the Government at present.
