HC Deb 21 May 1910 vol 116 c416W
Mr. WATERSON

asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the action of the manager of the Griff Colliery, near Nuneaton, in persuading a member of the colliery deputies to withdraw from membership to the Deputies' Association; and whether, in view of the danger of a stopping of work, lie will make representations to the management of the colliery with a view to the adoption of the recommendation made by the provisional committee of the Industrial Conference in favour of the complete recognition of trade unions?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. No information has been supplied to the Controller of Coal Mines relative to this matter, but inquiries are being made by him both of the colliery company concerned and of the local branch of the Deputies' Association. The result of these inquiries I shall be glad to communicate to the hon. Member.
