HC Deb 21 May 1910 vol 116 cc415-6W
Sir OWEN PHILIPPS

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether the Board of Agriculture obtained a Grant from His Majesty's Treasury at the end of 1917, in order to investigate proposals for developing the generation of electrical energy from the River Dee, with a view to promoting the further development of agriculture and rural industries in the counties of Cheshire, Flintshire, Shropshire, Denbigh-, shire, and Merionethshire; and whether the report desired by them has now been obtained?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

On the recommendation of the Board and the Development Commission, the Treasury made a Grant of a sum not exceeding £200 from the Development Fund to the Chester Corporation for the purpose stated in the question. The report referred to by my hon. Friend was received last month and is now under consideration.
