§ Mr. GLADSTONEI have no information as to the decision of the Nottingham Watch Committee to which the hon. Member refers. As regards the Metropolitan Police, I have already stated that full effect will be given to the decision of His Majesty's Government as soon as the necessary augmentation is complete, which will probably be in about four years' time. Meanwhile, the privilege will be extended as rapidly as the increasing strength of the Force permits.
