Hickey in the counties of Tipperary and Kilkenny; for what reason did the Commissioners exchange farms with these people; and is it the intention of the Commissioners to distribute the lands of Demone amongst the uneconomic holders in Doorish and district?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners inform me that the Hickeys have been provided with a farm of 88 acres in Leinster. The Commissioners do not know how many acres they hold in Tipperary and Kilkenny. The farm in Demone which they surrendered contained 94 acres. It will be distributed by the Commissioners when the necessary legal transfer has been completed.
