§ Mr. GINNELLasked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will state the net increase or decrease in the gross cost of Irish civil government, including all salaries and expenses of all departments but excluding payments for the purchase or improvement of land and as grants to evicted tenants, in 1905–6 and in each financial year since, and the annual increase estimated to result from the legislation of this Session?
§ Mr. BIRRELLIt is open to the hon. Member by examination of the Estimates and Appropriation Accounts which have been presented to Parliament, to arrive at the cost of any Department of the public service in the years referred to, but it526W would not be possible as yet to form an estimate of the financial result of the legislation of this Session.
