Mr. J. W. WILSONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can state what steps have now been taken to carry out the instructions which were understood to have been sent in May, 1908, to His Majesty's Agent and Consul-General with a view to introducing into the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba the system in regard to the legal status of slavery in force on the mainland of the East Africa Protectorate?
§ Sir E. GREYA decree for carrying out the object in view has been drafted, and is now under final consideration. It is hoped that it will shortly be issued.
