§ Mr. LEWIS HASLAMasked the President of the Local Government Board whether, with the view of the equitable relief of the burden of local rates, he will consider the advisability of taking such legislative or other measures as may be necessary to increase the number of years required for the redemption of debts on new school buildings, and to increase the number of the remaining years for such redemption on schools already built, where, on investigation, such increase is found to be fair and reasonable?
§ Mr. BURNSThis matter has from time to time received very careful consideration by myself and my predecessors. I can only say that if any local authority are of opinion that the circumstances of their case are so exceptional as to require special consideration, I am ready to consider any representations they may make to me.
