HL Deb 20 March 1997 vol 579 cc1167-8

Baroness Blatch rose to move, That the draft order laid before the House on 24th February be approved [19th Report from the Deregulation Committee].

The noble Baroness said: My Lords, this order is to be laid under the powers provided in the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994. It amends the Licensing (Occasional Permissions) Act 1983 by increasing the number of occasional permissions available to community groups to sell alcohol and relaxing some of the associated restrictions. I beg to move.

Moved, That the draft order laid before the House on 24th February be approved [19th Report from the Deregulation Committee.]—(Baroness Blatch.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
