§ Lord Chesham rose to move, That the draft order laid before the House on 11th March be approved [21st Report from the Deregulation Committee].
§ The noble Lord said: My Lords, this order will amend Section 33 of the Electricity Act 1989 by means of an order under the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994. The proposed amendment would enable renewable generators located on islands not connected with the rest of the electricity system on the mainland to be eligible for support from the fossil fuel levy. I beg to move.
