HL Deb 11 June 1997 vol 580 c891

3.29 p.m.

Lord Carter

My Lords, after the debate on dependent territories and before the debate on pensions and compensation to ex-service men and women, my noble friend Lord Haskel will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement that is to be made in another place on a comprehensive spending review. I take this opportunity to remind the House that the Companion indicates that discussion on a Statement should not exceed 20 minutes from the end of the Minister's initial reply to the Opposition spokesman, and that contributions in the discussion should be confined to brief comments and questions for clarification.
