§ 26 Clause 13, page 8, line 39, after 'application', insert 'or needed in connection with the collection or enforcement of child support or other maintenance under this Act'.
§ 27 Page 8, line 40, leave out 'person as may be prescribed' and insert 'persons as may be determined in accordance with regulations made by the Secretary of State'.
§ Lord HenleyMy Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 26 and 27.
These amendments are intended to clarify the intentions of Clause 13. Amendment No. 26 makes it clear that the requirement to provide information already in Clause 13 will apply equally to information required for the collection and enforcement of amounts of maintenance, as it will to information required to make an assessment.
§ Amendment No. 27 deals with the people who will be required to provide information. We intend to specify the circumstances in which people will be expected to provide information, rather than simply list all categories of people who will be required to give information; we think that that would go wider than we intend. The amendment better reflects that intention. I commend the amendments to the House.
§ Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 26 and 27.—(Lord Henley.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
