§ The Earl of Strathmore and KinghorneMy Lords, on behalf of my noble and learned friend the Lord Chancellor, I beg to introduce a Bill to make provision for consequential amendments and repeals and for transitional and transitory matters and savings in connection with the consolidation of certain enactments in the Water Resources Act 1991, the Water Industry Act 1991, the Land Drainage Act 1991 and the Statutory Water Companies Act 1991, and to 1482 repeal certain related enactments which are spent or unnecessary. I beg to move that this Bill be now read a first time.
