HL Deb 24 May 1990 vol 519 cc1028-9

11.36 a.m.

The Lord Chancellor (Lord Mackay of Clashfern)

My Lords, I beg to move that the Commons amendments be now considered.

Moved, That the Commons amendments be now considered.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

COMMON AMENDMENTS [References are to Bill 128 as first printed for the Commons] COMMONS AMENDMENT 1 Page 115. line 46, leave out 'I' and insert 'II'.
The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 1.

I should point out to your Lordships that there has been an unfortunate mistake in the printing. The amendments relating to the Town and Country Planning Bill have been printed under the heading of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Bill, and conversely. I ask your Lordships, therefore, to be kind enough to refer to the amendments under the heading, Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Bill.

In moving Amendment No. 1, I speak to Amendments Nos. 2 to 4. These amendments, apart from Amendment No. 3, are minor drafting corrections. Amendment No. 3 removes the privilege amendment which we insert in appropriate circumstances in sending a Bill to the other place. With your Lordships' leave I shall move Amendments Nos. 2 to 4 en bloc later.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 1 .— (The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

COMMONS AMENDMENTS 2 Page 215, line 34, leave out '102(5)' and insert '102(8)'. 3 Page 230, leave out lines 36 to 39. 4 Page 310, line 24, leave out '(5)' and insert '(8)'.
The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 2 to 4 for the reasons I have explained.

Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 2 to 4.— (The Lord Chancellor.)
