HL Deb 18 June 1990 vol 520 cc602-3

3.5 p.m.

Read a third time.

Clause 27 [For protection of rivers authority]:

The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare) moved the amendment: Page 15, line 1, leave out ("works authorised by section 4 (Power to construct works) of this Act;") and insert ("National Power works or the PowerGen works, as the case may be;")

The noble Lord said: My Lords, the Bill was orginally promoted by the Central Electricity Generating Board, which was to construct all the works proposed in the Bill. As your Lordships are well aware, the board is now succeeded by National Power and PowerGen. To give effect to that a series of amendments was made in the Unopposed Bill Committee. Unfortunately, a necessary amendment was omitted and that will be put right if your Lordships are good enough to agree to the amendment. I beg to move.

On Question, amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and sent to the Commons.
