§ 8 Clause 10, page 14, line 44, after 'individual', insert 'owners or'.
§ Lord Brabazon of TaraMy Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 8.
Your Lordships will recall that this House usefully amended Clause 10 at the instigation of the noble Lord, Lord Underhill, to make it clear that my right honourable friend the Secretary of State could not use his licensing powers to obtain information from a driver information system which could identify individual drivers. During Committee in another place, the Government accepted a further amendment to Clause 10 to make it clear that nor could information be obtained which could identify the owners of vehicles using a driver information system.
§ Moved, That the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 8.—(Lord Brabazon of Tara.)
§ Lord UnderhillMy Lords, I should like to say how much I appreciate the fact that the Government have added this further point to the amendment passed in your Lordships' House. We overlooked the point at the time and I am grateful that it has now been added.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
