The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare)

My Lords, unless any noble Lord objects, I beg to move the five Motions standing in my name on the Order Paper en bloc. They all have the same purpose; namely, to make alterations to the membership of some of the Select Committees of the House to take account of the recent changes in the leadership of the Social and Liberal Democratic? Party and the Social Democratic Party in this House.

Moved, That the Lord Jenkins of Hillhead and the Lord Walston be appointed members of the Select Committee in the places of the Baroness Seear and the Lord Diamond, resigned;

That the Lord Walston be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of the Baroness Stedman, resigned;

That the Lord Jenkins of Hillhead and the Baroness Stedman be appointed members of the Select Committee in the places of the Baroness Seear and the Lord Diamond, resigned;

That the Lord Jenkins of Hillhead and the Lord Walston be appointed members of the Select Committee in the places of the Baroness Seear and the Lord Diamond, resigned; and

That the Lord Jenkins of Hillhead and the Lord Walston be appointed members of the Select Committee in the places of the Baroness Seear and the Baroness Stedman, resigned—(Lord Aberdare.)
