HL Deb 09 March 1987 vol 485 c823

3 p.m.

Read a third time.

In the Preamble:

The Earl of Dundee moved Amendments Nos. 1 to 5:

Page 1, line 1, leave out first ("the") and insert ("a")

Page 1, line 1, leave out from ("Order") to ("has") in line 2 and insert ("relating to harbours in Grampian Region")

Page 1, line 5, at end insert ("with amendments")

Page 1, line 5, at end insert—

("And whereas the said Order as amended is set forth in schedule hereunto annexed:") In the Title, line 1, after ("confirm") insert ("with amendments")

The noble Earl said: My Lords, with the leave of the House, I beg to move Amendments Nos. 1 to 5 en bloc. The confirmation Bill, as introduced, was drafted on the basis of a modified provisional order as made by the Secretary of State. It was desirable, however, to make certain amendments to the provisional order during the consideration stage of the Bill. The amendment of the order in this way has falsified the Long Title and Preamble. It is now necessary to make amendments to those to give recognition to the fact that the order has been amended during the proceedings on the Bill.

On Question, amendments agreed to.

The Earl of Dundee

My Lords, I beg to move that the Bill do now pass.

Moved, That the Bill do now pass.—(The Earl of Dundee.)

On Question, Bill passed, and returned to the Commons with amendments.
