Baroness Hooper

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 105 to 107. Amendment No. 105 reflects the fact that the Education (No. 2) Bill reached the statute book first. It became therefore the Education Act 1986, so this one will become the No. 2 Act.

Amendment No. 106 extends the scope of certain provisions of the Bill to Scotland and Northern Ireland, reflecting the fact that the corporal punishment clauses extend there and that the cross-border recoupment new clause extends to Scotland too. This amendment is therefore a consequential of Amendments Nos. 85, 86 and 93, while Amendment No. 107 removes the privilege amendment.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendments.—(Baroness Hooper.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
