HL Deb 30 October 1986 vol 481 c862

116 Schedule 2, page 63, line 13, at end insert— (2) Where, under sub-paragraph (1) above, any requirement is imposed by a local education authority on the head teacher of a new school which will he an aided school, the authority shall notify the temporary governing body of that requirement; and the head teacher of any such school shall furnish that body with a copy of any report which he makes in complying with any such requirement.".

Baroness Hooper

My Lords, I beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 116. This amendment makes for temporary governing bodies of new aided schools the same provision as that added by your Lordships to Clause 28 (2), requiring the local education authority to copy to the governing body of an aided school any request for a report which it makes of the head teacher, and the head teacher to copy the subsequent report to the governing body. This is to safeguard the special interests of the governing body of an aided school as the employer.

Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in the said amendment.—(Baroness Hooper.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
