§ Baroness HooperMy Lords, I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 39, and at the same time it may be convenient to discuss Amendments Nos. 44 and 56. These amendments extend from three to five the number of days in aggregate in any one term a pupil may be excluded from the school without the head teacher having to report the fact to the governing body and the local education authority. The Government accepted Opposition amendments at Committee stage.
