HL Deb 23 October 1985 vol 467 c1147

46BZA Page 174, line 46, at end insert— ("18A. Provision requiring the person who is the supervisor of a composition or scheme approved under Chapter 1A of Part II of this Act, when it appears to him that the composition or scheme has been fully implemented and that nothing remains to be done by him under the composition or scheme—

  1. (a) to give notice of that fact to persons bound by the composition or scheme; and
  2. (b) to report to those persons on the carrying out of the functions conferred on the supervisor of the composition or scheme.").

In the light of the attitude of the noble Lord, Lord Lucas—who has been most accommodating in this matter—I propose to regard the amendments as being self-explanatory and not speak to them at all.

[Amendments Nos. 46ZA and 46ZB not moved.]

The Deputy Speaker (The Earl of Listowel)

My Lords, we now come to Amendment No. 46A.

Lord Mishcon

My Lords, I wonder whether the noble Lord the Minister can help me. It is very important that we get this right and it is a rather complex matter because of the supplementary list. May I respectfully suggest that the House do adjourn for a couple of minutes in order that we can get this procedurally right rather than make an error at this last stage of the Bill?

Lord Meston

My Lords, we are getting in a terrible muddle and I think that we may be amending amendments which have not been moved.

Lord Brabazon of Tara

My Lords, I quite agree and I beg to move that the House do adjourn for five minutes until 6.20, while we discuss this matter.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.

[The Sitting was suspended from 6.15 until 6.20 p.m.]
