§ The Lord ChancellorMy Lords, Amendments Nos. 18 to 27 are all related and therefore they can be moved en bloc. They substitute the words "licensed conveyancer" in Clause 22 for the existing word "defendant". I think it was the noble Lord, Lord Graham of Edmonton, who first moved these amendments at the Committee stage in this House and I then agreed to consider them. They were raised again in the other place and the Government then readily accepted them. I therefore beg to move that the House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 18 to 27.
§ Moved, That this House do agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 18 to 27.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ Lord Elwyn-JonesMy Lords, we are grateful to the noble and learned Lord, as a matter of courtesy. It was the right thing to have done.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
