Lord Denham

My Lords, at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m. this afternoon my noble friend Lord Belstead will, with the leave of the House, repeat a Statement on banking supervision that is being made in another place. That will be followed by my noble friend Lady Trumpington, who, again with the leave of the House, will repeat a Statement on the supplementary benefit board and lodging payments.

It may be for the convenience of the House if I announce that the Committee stage of the Shops Bill will be adjourned at approximately 7.30 p.m. At approximately 8.30 p.m. the Committee stage of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Bill will be resumed. It is intended that the Committee stage of that Bill will be completed tonight. During the break the Social Security (Contributions Re-Rating) Order 1985 will be taken.
