HL Deb 29 October 1984 vol 456 c352
The Chairman of Committees (Lord Aberdare)

My Lords, I beg to move the first Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. Standing Order No. 147 provides for the deposit of a copy of a Bill as amended in Committee with various Government departments not less than three clear days before the Third Reading of the Bill. This Bill was only considered by the Committee on Unopposed Bills last Thursday and reported with amendments. If it is to complete its progress through this House before the end of the Session it must receive its Third Reading and be passed this afternoon. The departments concerned are in close touch with the Bill and the promoters have given an undertaking that they will deposit the necessary copies within a day or two. I beg to move.

Moved, That Private Bill Standing Order 147 (Bill as amended in Committee to be deposited at Public Departments) be dispensed with to enable the Bill to be read a third time this day.—(Lord Aberdare.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

Bill read a third time, and passed, and returned to the Commons with amendments.
