Whether they will introduce their bill on telephone tapping before the end of the year.

A Bill will be introduced in fulfilment of the undertaking given by my noble friend Lord Whitelaw that there would be legislation on the interception of communications in the forthcoming Session of Parliament (HL Debates, 19th March 1984, Vol 449, col. 1033) but its place within the legislative programme has yet to be decided.
