HL Deb 16 October 1984 vol 455 cc972-3
Lord Avebury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will place in the Library of the House a copy of the minutes of the meeting of the Executive Council of the Falkland Islands in which Mr. William Luxton, chairman of the board and principal shareholder in Packe Brothers, owners of the Packe Brothers estate which was sold to the Falkland Islands Government for £500,000, declared his interest in the transaction; and how the sale price compared with the valuation made by the Overseas Development Administration.

Lord Trefgarne

As minutes of meetings of the Executive Council are confidential internal documents of the Falkland Islands Government, copies of them cannot be placed in the Library of the House. The Overseas Development Administration did not produce a valuation of the Packe Brothers farm: one was produced locally.
