The Lord Privy Seal (Baroness Young) had given notice of her intention to move the Motion standing in her name on the order Paper: That Standing Order 34 and paragraphs (10), (11), (12) and (13) of the Rules for the conduct of Short Debates set out in Appendix D to the Companion to the Standing Orders shall apply to the Motion in the name of the Lord Diamond set down for Monday 16th May.

The noble Baroness said: My Lords, in view of the Statement that has just been made by my noble friend the Chief Whip, I shall not now move the Business Motion which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
