The Earl of GowrieMy Lords, I beg to move that the Quarries (Northern Ireland) Order 1982, a draft of which was laid before this House on 19th October 1982, be approved. This order consolidates the Quarries Act (Northern Ireland) 1927 and the enactments amending that Act. It was considered by the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills on 8th December 1982 and the committee was satisfied that it is a purely consolidating measure, and that there is no point to which the attention of Parliament should be drawn. It therefore makes no changes of substance in the existing law, but brings it together in one order. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That the draft order laid before the House on 19th October be approved.—(The Earl of Gowrie.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
