HL Deb 27 October 1982 vol 435 c491

2 Clause 9, page 8, line 22, leave out 'section 7 of the Adminstration of Justice Act 1965' and insert 'section 38(7) of the Adminstration of Justice Act 1982'

The Lord Chancellor

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 2, and I shall refer also to Amendment No. 14. Amendments Nos. 2 and 14 are required to take account of a provision in the Administration of Justice Bill which amends the law consolidated by the present Bill. The first part of Amendment No. 14 is a necessary transitional provision to preserve the status quo pending the implementation of the relevant Part of the Administration of Justice Bill. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

Lord Elwyn-Jones

My Lords, this is obviously a useful proposal, with which I agree.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
