§ The Earl of MansfieldMy Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 47. This amendment has the effect of amending the definition of "dealing" to cover the situation where powers of compulsory acquisition are exercised against a matrimonial home. The effect of the amendment is that where the entitled spouse requires to grant a conveyance of the property in implementation of the compulsory purchase order the consent of the non-entitled spouse is not necessary. I beg to move.
