HL Deb 28 June 1978 vol 394 c320

[Nos. 9 and 10.]

Clause 13, page 8, line 15, leave out 'and'

Clause 13, page 8, line 17, at end add 'and the reference in subsection (4)(b) above to "an arbitration award" as a reference to "a decree arbitral".

The LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendments Nos. 9 and 10 en bloc. This is a Scottish Amendment consequential on the insertion of subsection (4)(b), which refers to "enforcing an arbitration award". Subsection (6) translates English terms into the terms known to Scottish lawyers—ever a source of mystery to English and Welsh lawyers—and the technical term for an arbitration award in Scotland is a "decree arbitral".

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
