HL Deb 28 June 1978 vol 394 c314

[No. 2.]

Schedule 1, page 9, line 25, at end insert— '(g) section 48 (rape).'

Lord HARRIS of GREENWICH

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 2. This Amendment is necessitated by the coming into operation on 22nd April 1978 of the Sexual Offences (Northern Ireland) Order 1978. That order defines the offence of rape in Northern Ireland law in the same way as the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1976 does for the offence of rape in the law of England and Wales.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—[Lord Harris of Greenwich.]

On Question, Motion agreed to.
