HL Deb 04 April 1978 vol 390 cc10-1
The LORD CHANCELLOR (Lord Elwyn-Jones)

My Lords, in moving the Third Reading of the State Immunity Bill, I should like to express my gratitude for the assistance which the Government received to ensure the speedy passage of the Bill through the House. While its provisions are very technical—and it was accordingly most helpful to receive the assistance of the noble and learned Lords who took part in the debates on the Bill—nevertheless, the noble Lord, Lord O'Brien of Lothhury, stressed its great importance for our country's commercial interests. I should also like to thank the noble Baroness, Lady Elles, for her assistance. I beg to move that the Bill be now read a third time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Bill read 3a, and passed, and sent to the Commons.
