HL Deb 08 March 1977 vol 380 c968

5.27 p.m.

The SOLICITOR-GENERAL for SCOTLAND (Lord McCluskey) rose to move, That the Legal Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Financial Conditions) (No. 2) Regulations, 1977, laid before the House on 15th February, be approved. The noble and learned Lord said: My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. In view of the noble Earl's notice of intention not to speak separately on the Scottish regulations, and because he is quite right in saying that the purpose of these regulations is to raise the upper income limit of eligibility for legal advice and assistance in Scotland, so as to keep it the same in both jurisdictions, I shall confine myself to a formal moving of the Motion. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Legal Advice and Assistance (Scotland) (Financial Conditions) (No. 2) Regulations, 1977, laid before the House on 15th February, be approved.—(Lord McCluskey.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
