The Commons disagreed to these Amendments for the following Reason:

57 Because the Amendments remove important elements contained in the proposals announced on 15th December 1975.

Lord WELLS-PESTELL

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth not insist on their Amendments Nos. 55 and 56, to which the Commons have disagreed for the Reason numbered 57, which reads: Because the Amendments remove important elements contained in the proposals announced on 15th December 1975, I am sorry that we are back on that date.

Moved, That this House cloth not insist on the said Amendments, to which the Commons have disagreed for the Reason numbered 57.—(Lord Wells-Pestell.)

Baroness YOUNG

My Lords, I think that the easiest way to deal with these Amendments is to refer the House to what I said on Amendments Nos. 47 to 49, because, although this is unlikely to be the last word on the Goodman Agreements, it is likely to be my last word on this set of Amendments.
