HL Deb 15 November 1976 vol 377 cc977-8

[No. 8.]

Clause 112, page 88, line 18, leave out 'the Maplin Development Authority'.

The LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 8, and with the consent of the House I will also speak to Amendments Nos. 13 and 14. Amendment No. 8 would eliminate from the Bill references to the Maplin Development Authority and the Maplin Development Act 1973, for the very good reason that it is now clear, though it was not clear when the Bill was introduced, that the current Maplin Development Authority (Dissolution) Act, which provides for the dissolution of the Maplin Development Authority, will take effect before the Land Drainage Bill.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
