Clause 2, page 4, line 8, leave out ("December") and insert ("March").

Clause 2, page 4, line 15, leave out ("December") and insert ("March").

Clause 2, page 4, line 21, leave out ("December") and insert ("March").

Lord WINTERBOTTOM

My Lords, with the permission of the House, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons, in their Amendments Nos. 5 to 7 en bloc. The noble Lord, Lord Lyell, may remember that he moved this Amendment in Committee but at that time it was resisted by the Government. Following further consultation and pressure in another place, the Government have decided to concede this point. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Winterbottom.)

Lord LYELL

My Lords, all I have to say on behalf of my noble friends on these Benches is that we are grateful to the Government for the way in which they have dealt with this matter. This is not a Party matter. I believe it was at the behest of various accountancy bodies, who were very much involved in these matters.
