Clause 2, page 4, line 3, at end insert— (g) in section 101, in subsection (3), after the words '(except regulations made' there shall be inserted the words under section 95(1) or' and after that subsection there shall be inserted the following subsection—

• '(3A) No regulations shall be made under section 95(1) of this Act unless a draft of the regulations has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament.'."

My Lords, I beg to move Amendment No. 8 to subsection (1) of Clause 2 of the Bill by which a new paragraph (g) is added. The terms of this paragraph fulfil an under taking given by the Government when the Bill was in Committee in this House. Noble Lords will no doubt recall that in response to an Amendment then moved by the noble Lords, Lord Teviot and Lord Mowbray and Stourton, the Government agreed to make provision to secure that the regulations which Clause 2 of the Bill enables the Secretary of State to make in relation to drivers' hours and records should be subject to the Affirmative Resolution procedure. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment.
