HL Deb 28 July 1975 vol 363 c717
The CHAIRMAN of COMMITTEES (The Earl of Listowel)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. At this time in the Session I usually have to ask your Lordships to dispense with Standing Order No. 147 in order to enable certain Private Bills to pass through both Houses of Parliament before the Summer Recess. The purpose of suspending this Standing Order is to shorten the period between the Committee stage and Third Reading of a Bill by not requiring the Departments concerned to receive the amended Bill three clear days in advance.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 147 (Bill as amended in Committee to be deposited at Public Departments) be dispensed with until the House rises for the Summer Recess.—(The Earl of Listowel.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
