HL Deb 30 April 1975 vol 359 c1243
Lord WIGG

My Lords, I seek the indulgence of the House to make a personal statement, for yesterday, at column 1220 of Hansard, I am reported as saying: … I shall support the Common Market". That is not so; I shall not support the Common Market, certainly so far as the referendum is concerned. I wish to put the Record straight, and I wish to make it clear that any fault in this matter is mine and not that of Hansard. It comes as a result of undue contraction on my part and the turning of "I will", which I said, into "I shall". I trust that the Record can be put right, and I owe the House an apology for troubling it on this occasion and for not being clearer yesterday.
