Schedule 1, page 52, line 22, leave out "of the medical profession" and insert "respectively of medical practitioners, dental practitioners, nurses, midwives, registered pharmacists and ophthalmic and dispensing opticians ".
§ LORD ABERDAREMy Lords, may I speak to Amendment No. 90 at the same time. These two Amendments add the bodies representative of dentists, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and opticians to the bodies representative of doctors, which alone were explicitly mentioned in the Bill originally, as bodies to be consulted by the Secretary of State when making appointments to Regional Health Authorities. Amendment No. 90 makes a similar provision in relation to Area Health Authorities. I beg to move.
