§ THE LORD CHANCELLORMy Lords, the effect of Section 2 of the Administration of Justice (Judges and Pensions) Act 1960 is now contained in paragraph 2(2) to Schedule 1 of the Bill. The section and the paragraph both provide that the pension of a stipendiary magistrate shall be calculated on his salary immediately before his retirement instead of on the average of the salary he received during his last three years. It is therefore appropriate to repeal Section 2 of the 1960 Act. This was inadvertently omitted from Schedule 4 and this Amendment rectifies that omission. I beg to move.
