My Lords, I beg to move the first Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper.

Moved, That the Bill be Committed to a Select Committee consisting of the following Lords viz.:—

That the Minutes of Evidence taken by the Select Committee on the Anti-Discrimination (No. 2) Bill [H.L.] in the last Session be referred to the Committee.

That the Committee have power—

  1. (a) to send for persons, papers and records;
  2. (b) to adjourn from place to place; and
  3. (c) to report from time to time.

That the Committee have power to appoint persons with specialised knowledge for the purposes of particular enquiries, either to supply information which is not readily available, or to elucidate matters of complexity within the Committee's Order of Reference.

That the Minutes of Evidence taken from time to time do lie on the Table and be delivered out.—(Earl Jellicoe.)
