HL Deb 12 January 1971 vol 314 cc5-6
BARONESS BURTON OF COVENTRY

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they are now in a position to make a statement about the Sports Council.]

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE, DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT (LORD SANDFORD)

My Lords, when the noble Baroness inquired last in December, I said that my honourable friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State had met the Sports Council to hear their views. The matter is still being considered. A statement will be made in due course.

BARONESS BURTON OF COVENTRY

My Lords, I quite understand. I thank the noble Lord.
