HL Deb 25 February 1971 vol 315 c1169

3.27 p.m.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)

My Lords, I beg to move that the Luton Corporation Bill be now read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Listowel.)

LORD LINDGREN

My Lords, may I ask the noble Earl whether this Bill includes any reference to the extensions of the Luton Airport as runways?

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

My Lords, this Bill is one which provides various powers for the County Borough of Luton. It does not in the Title suggest that any of those powers relate to the airport. However, I will make further inquiries and, if I am wrong, I will immediately inform the noble Lord, Lord Lindgren.

LORD LINDGREN

My Lords, I thank the noble Earl.

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to the Committee on Unopposed Bills.
