LORD KENNET

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they intend that money for the preservation of buildings of architectural or historic interest paid on the advice of the Historic Buildings Council shall be £700,000 in the current financial year, as announced by the last Government on May 20, 1970, or shall be cut back, and if so, by how much.]

LORD SANDFORD

My Lords, the Government propose no reductions in the present allocation.
